Matt, note that the IHSSBCA runs All-State, not the IHSA. They absolutely hate doing things that they don't have to.

Well, my very upset friend, if you take note, there are only 10 all-sectional players from your sectional. That means that EVERY player who was put up for contention got honors. If their coaches had in fact nominated them, then all of those players that you mentioned would be listed up there as well.

The reason that IMSA doesn't get invited is because of their recruitment policies. No one really appreciates them scouting their school's talent and then courting them while they are currently attending another school (see: the aforementioned Bonny Jain). Well, in the case of Naperville, it was easy to sub in a player based on upcoming questions, even without looking ahead. If you hear one math question, you should have called a timeout after that one was over and put in all your math people, because you knew that the next three would be math as well...
