Seems to me that a distinction needs to be made - are F/S tourneys meant to be played as Frosh/Soph, or as Junior Varsity? I personally like the idea of JV... meaning keep the varsity-caliber players out of the F/S matches if they've been starting on varsity. But at the same time, should a first-yea...

Since she doesn't happen to be on right now, I'll inform you... Maine South. As for who she is, I don't know if she wants that said online, so lemme give you a hint. It's not Stacey, and I don't refer myself as "she."

Cheers.

And one last post before I head to Paris for two weeks...

Did you guys notice what happened after the DC Metro-Area post about fantasy leagues? Nothing. They ignored it. As a joke. Which it was.

That being said, I believe that means Brad and I deserve to die. Sad...

Gotta say... this proves that Illinois is indeed the KING of all states in SchoBowl overanalysis. Coach Egan - anyone who cares enough to play imaginary quizbowl is probably going to draft themselves. And if not... that's their problem. However, as the guy who originally took Siva's monster and pull...

I'd like to argue that A doesn't necessarily imply B.

NC - I'm a math guy at heart, so I know the feeling. It's just that Illinois is one of the most math-heavy states, and I'd like to a) patent and eventually b) sell this thing, no? Just kidding. Hey... for simplicity points: Every Friday night before a tournament, we draft the players in that tournam...

That might be tricky. If we count raw number of tossups, then clear 1st-round picks would be the teams who play larger schedules. But maybe a league where you have to take, say, 2 generalists, a SS, Sci, and Lit guy, and one other of your choice for six total. Or hmm... pick by teams? And would we n...

I think it would be safe to say that some of Tolkien's non-LOTR work isn't trash. Or even in the LOTR stuff, what about the more linguistic stuff? If you wanted, you could write a question about Tolkien without ever mentioning hobbits... if it's a pyramid, finish it with "and based his fabricat...

Hmm... 3 of 10 of us are indeed named Greg. I wonder what the chances of that are... According to the database from the US Census Bureau, .104% percent of all men are named Greg. .441% are Gregory (myself included...) add them together and you get .545% who could go by "Greg." Thanks to Va...
