i agree that its less popular than the other 3 major sports, but when people call for eradicating it from the "trash canon" its quite ridiculous.

I don't get Indiana. There aren't too many schools that have IU as their closest site (except for parts of Indiana, parts of Kentucky, and parts of Ohio). Which schools other than say Louisville and Ohio State are they trying to attract? Also what does Bloomington have that Muncie doesn't?

This sounds fun.

I'm thinking about writing a trashy side tournament. Something like this tournament goes to 11 (with less rounds of course), except you only have 4 players to split between 2 rounds. Of course, everything would packet would be a trash topic or a trashy theme.

A lot of the fun of Trash (for me at least) is having embarrassing knowledge. And I am looking forward to Cult, and trying to bring a team down. Trash just needs to be more college player friendly, as that's the primary market.

The 2009 SCT deserves an honorable mention, at least. It was a pretty damn well written tournament, with only one or two difficulty outliers (the tossup on Miklos Horthy comes to mind.) I also thought it was among the best copy-edited tournaments, and had few issues playing it while running a fever...

Completely in agreement with Charlie.
You should look into running a HS tournament to raise money. Why? A high school quiz bowl tournament is great marketing for a small college, and you have more money to go to more tournaments. You and your school win.

Prelim stats and playoff stats mean worlds more than combined stats. Prelim stats show how you did against the general field, and the playoff stats show how you do against similar competition. Just combining them doesn't show anything, as you have to know how to who exactly the competition was etc. ...
