Every time I've seen a tournament near the Tennessee area, it makes me wonder, so I finally decided to ask:
What happened to Cookeville's team? Are they still active?

Garfield Heights A State College B, Tipp and GH all tied at 3-2 in the championship round-robin, thus effectively tying for 2nd. I was quite proud of the fact that my team only lost to State College A by 10 points, and the last ...

In Ohio, almost always does the host team play. Only a slight few tournaments (Tippecanoe being the only one off the top of my head -- and Joe can enlighten us why) have the host team not playing here. We hosted (and won) NAQT States in Ohio last year... nothing fishy happened, and for the most part...

Bob- We should be there for both, as long as I can get the kids to commit two days to me, which shouldn't be a problem... As always, I'll be around to read and help out, and if you get out of town teams, we can put together some ideas for entertainment for them at night after the NAQT day is complete.

Questions for Sale
While going through all of the paperwork and old questions in storage before practice the other day, it occurred to me that I still have tons of copies of questions from our tournaments from 2002-2005. The questions are in Ohio Format (I know... blech). They make good practice questions. While Ohio ...

My team went a disappointing 4-6... missing our #2 guy apparently hurt more than expected... Still had a great time in Chicago, and got to meet many of the people I've only talked to over the internet, so I still had a great time. Lee-- you're right, we could have a huge off-topic discussion about it, but I'd rather not get into it... Until Ohio becomes primarily-NAQT, we will not be able to compete on level ground on a regular basis with the powerhouses. Sure, Solon did well last year, but they had Noah, who was probably the...

Your two best bets from Ohio are my team (Garfield Heights) and Tippecanoe. However, Ohio's educational system is sub-par at best, which is why in general, Ohio teams do much more poorly at Nationals than do the Virginia teams, and certain other states. I would expect both to finish over .500, but I...

Ohio sends the OAC (Ohio Academic Competition) State Champion to PAC every year, which explains why we do pitiful. This won't be decided until May 6. In Ohio, we just picked up NAQT States last year. I ran it at our school this year with a scheduled turnout of 32 teams, although this shrunk to 27 the morning of the tournament. In Ohio Academic Competition format (blech), we have 6 regional tournaments, at which there are usually between 13-16 tea...
