Re: Next Year

I wouldn't really expect anyone out of Illinois or the SEMO ACE camp to know much about them, but Carbondale from Illinois put up a pretty decent showing at PACE (low 20-something-th place, I think), especially for a first-time team that's returning literally everybody. On paper (statistically), the...

Sweet action. We at Auburn will try our darnedest to make it down there. What decent (by which I mean appropriate for strong high school teams; I assume that all will have excellent questions) tournaments does UChicago hold?

IHSA is not forcing you to deal with bad questions. Is this a nonsensical "if you don't like it, quit" statement or something more coded? My interpretation (well, really, my opinion carefully projected onto Mr. Reinstein) is that the IHSA does not force you to choose one-liner tournaments...

Change is slowly happening. I don't know about computational math ever disappearing, but the Kickoff tournament run by the coaches' association (NOT the IHSA) will be run in mACF bonus format as somewhat of an experiment to test the southern portion of the state. The teams that seek to go beyond IHS...

Seriously...If you neg before they even answer in that situation, and they do get the tossup, they only need two bonus parts. That's a much higher likelihood than you getting the tossup, zeroing on the bonus, and having them sweep it.
