Chicago Open Logistics - Questions

A few logistical things on CO: 1. Do people want to order pizza (or something else) at lunchtime again? Staff would be free and everyone else would presumably chip in some small amount. This seems pretty popular. If so, is there someone who's levelheaded and good with stuff like this (Susan F: will ...

Some combination of Bruce and Hart is where the truth lies with these rankings. I could go either way on this one, it doesn't matter much to me. So, vote away or comment or whatever, and at some point I'll decide.

Re: High Schoolers in College Tournaments

Even the most radical participant in these discussions (probably me) heartily agrees that it's not good for quizbowl or any tournament to have teams that can "roll the field." That's an easily defensible position, and it's a better way to approach this problem than engaging in "rulemaking for the sa...

To be clear, I'm only arguing that (3) is the best option with tournaments that are not ACF-sponsored and not ICT or SCT (because the goals of those events is clearly to determine who the "best collegiate team" is - and therefore the eligibility rules should conform to that specific purpose), and no...

Marnold's question nicely exposes how humorous it is that people (M-Jack above) are asking how many tourneys you "ought to be allowed" to play if you have "no affiliation." As if the simple fact that you have no affiliation obviously makes you some kind of "Other." Why you're the Other, i.e. what ac...

I'm fine with 5 open tournaments during the year, with three of them situated during the "off season."
