Arcadia Quiz Bowl will be having some stuff going on over winter break, but 0% of it will be actually quiz bowl related. I'd be happy to see if I can get some kind of scrimmage or something going between any player from SoCal who wants to come, though.

I suppose it's worth noting that the standings in those stats are in the wrong order because the championship and consolation brackets got merged, but the other stats look accurate. Thanks for hosting!

In my opinion, the "read a book" strategy is most helpful at higher levels of play. Arcadia is definitely interested and will probably send 4-7 teams, along with our two buzzer sets. I'll get the finalized info to you by email about a week before 11/17.

ATLAS I is now also a Platinum PACE-affiliated tournament, meaning the top 25% of the teams at this tournament will qualify for PACE National Scholastic Competition in June 2013, along with the top 15% qualifying for NAQT High School National Championship Tournament.

Possibly a team from South Pasadena HS, and maybe some luck in getting Polytech HS to return to the circuit. At the moment the biggest obstacle in getting programs from within 45 miles of Arcadia to participate is that none exist :party:

Unfortunately, I think Irvine has already claimed that date ( Irvine High Operation Pandemonium ) for its own IS-120 tournament. For anyone who felt that stats took way too long at our February tournament, we are making a number of administrative changes to our system of running future tournaments, and part of this helps to ensure that our statkeeper will be able to post the stats by the next day at the latest.

Arcadia tentatively claims the date for the TWAIN-replacement on Sunday, October 7th.

As for more established LA tournaments, a couple of Arcadia alumni are attempting to revive USC's quiz bowl club, but this probably won't get off the ground until winter of 2012 at least.
