Re: 2018 National Quiz Bowl Awards

I did not consider the polls. That being said, my ballot and the Player Poll were fairly similar though not perfect matches. In the player poll, the finalists for this competition are ranked 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, and 18. The loudest complaints in this thread are about the #6 person in the poll not be...

Scobol Solo and Masonics 2018-19

This announcement actually covers three sets. Scobol Solo is a tossup only set. It contains 14 regular rounds, one replacement round, and a 60 question championship round, with tiebreakers for all rounds. It is about 400 tossups total. The main site will be at New Trier (near Chicago), probably on S...

If your two options are to be conscious of trying to get varied answer lines or to set a high bar and reach it at all costs, then I agree that the former is the better choice. That being said, there are other options. You can count how many answers were women/works by women in your set last year and...

The reason I decided to make a list instead of just giving numbers was because at some point there is some nuance. I'll try to bring this thread back from the dead. I agree with what Noah says above. My goal in posting this wasn't to say that women should be 50% of the answerlines in a set.
