In reference to things upthread, what are the requirements to qualify for NAQT State? Top 25% at a qualifying tournament? I can't find the requirements on the IHSSBCA site or here.

Sorry to harp on this again, but having more tournaments farther south will help (e.g. NAQT State at Bloomington, which I think I have a decent shot at convincing my team to go to since it's close.) If some teams catch the quizbowl "bug," it might be enough to grow a real community in central/south...

This year was the first year that I had teammates that balanced out the team instead of me having to try to be the "one man" (or woman). I can testify that having a well-rounded team is not only a more successful team, but it is also far more relaxing.

"Trang Academy" had a good experience. The set was great and the day went pretty smoothly. Thanks to all the moderators and also to Brad and Kristin, who got us in the field at the last minute. I hope we can return sometime next year.

We weren't nominated at all because my coach didn't/didn't have time to fill out the paperwork and prepare and stuff. I'm disappointed, but he's been going through a really tough time lately and I can forgive him. But looking at the list, I think we both would have made First Team, which makes me sad.

I love the new site! It works really well...except on my Android, still. Don't know if I'm doing anything wrong, but pressing anything other than "Search" or "Reader" or "Multiplayer" has no effect. Thanks for all your work--happy to finally have something permanent that works well!

Anything father south is a huge help. The only reason our (self-organized) team couldn't go was the transportation issue. If it was in Bloomington or maybe even Champaign, we might have been able to persuade someone to drive us.
