Definitely bring iodine tablets, anti-malarials, and other portable medicines. Update shots. Also, since it's summer, there's a high risk of sunburn and mosquito bites (seriously, so many mosquitoes), so bring sunscreen and sleep under nets/use repellent.

There could be a video camera on a tripod set up in just one room and recording for the entire day of competition, with post-editing removing the breaks. That way, no one will have to set up something between each and every round.

What about California? 32 of the 200 teams in Fred's rankings are currently in California, it's rapidly gaining popularity here, and players from California have to travel a huge distance (which likely includes pretty expensive plane flights) to get to any sort of camp.
