Re: Jersey Shore Open - Mantoloking, NJ - August 8-9, 2011

Sorry if this was the case; with only a day to look over the questions, I just tried to avoid repeats in answer lines, not to do a whole scale editing job. I think everyone noticed that it didn't extend to the bonuses, however. The funniest thing about the main event was that the Ehrenfest theorem ...

Re: Moving Away From The "Long Island" Quiz Bowl Team Stereotype

Your team is doing Regional Quiz Bowl, right? KP is very likely dropping RQB from its program next year due to its awful questions, its bizarre format that discourages answering questions at all during the last quarter, and an e-mail that Will (WSchneider) could possibly forward you if you would lik...

Technically any game with a difference of 45 or less could have been decided by a trash question. If I was playing and lost to a team by 20 points when they 30'd a bonus on, for instance, major chicken chain restaurants (this led to a 30 second pause in the game I read this packet for due to laughte...

We've included bonuses in our packet. I think it's common sense for most of the teams competing (I say most only because as far as I know the Irvington team's only exposure to the tossup/bonus format was at Hills West, correct me if I'm wrong).

My (not all that significant) problem with it is that our team already had 4 players set up (our fourth, by the way, is Naib Mobassir, a former WM student going to SBU). By the way, since you're advocating not taking one's own car to this, do you know the best way to get from NYC to Mantoloking?

Does anyone know when the New York Science Olympiad is? If the people at KP want to run KPAQT around the same time as last year (as of now I don't know), they'll definitely want to avoid that date.
Also, Kings Park's spring break is the same time as St. Joseph's.
