Re: High School Lit Singles Tourney (after NTV, 12/19/2009)

Actually, Dr. Bardoe says that if I can find enough student interest, we might be able to go to NTV, assuming there's room left. Hopefully some students will want to come.

Re: High School Lit Singles Tourney (after NTV, 12/19/2009)

I can play this and check interest from my school. I don't know if my literature knowledge will be up to par with the field but should be a learning experience at least.

Re: Decemberist III

Carmel and Latin? Cool! I'm glad to see two teams from my former league taking an interest in good quizbowl. First, Septemberist than Kickoffs than this. I know they have league play during Huskie Bowl, but might we see them at NTV/Wildcat/NAQT State/Loyburn and the like? Dan or anyone else - if yo...

Re: Decemberist III

Well we're going, is it going to be only those 10 schools? And do we know format?

Re: Kickoffs

To celebrate the fact that we actually have a whole subforum to ourselves, I'm going to take advantage of it and put this in a new thread. Mods, maybe we could split off the Kickoff-related posts from the main Illinois thread into here. 5. New Trier A was not one of the teams I saw today. If what I...

Re: Illinois '09-'10

I do believe the top 16 teams all qualified, based on the fact that I was informed that we qualified, despite losing our first afternoon match in an intense 305-280 game with New Trier. Unfortunately we couldn't stay around to see the finals so I don't know who won. I know Loyola had the most points...

Re: Illinois '09-'10

Should make Finals: Krystle Leung, Ben Chametzky, Lloyd Sy, Zahed Haseeb, Bonny Jain, Dan Donohue (are you playing?) Krystle Leung is not playing, nor is Zahed Haseeb, Bonny Jain or Dan Donohue. Or if they are I don't see them on the roster. I've seen more of Zach Blumenfeld's play but I played Dev...

Re: Why do you play Quiz Bowl?--Poll!

While I think if you take quiz bowl seriously it is very helpful to your academic endeavors, everyone I know that participates does it for either the social or competitive aspect. We do it because we enjoy the games, and for some of us it's a lot easier to be good at quiz bowl than sports :)
