There are currently 14 people signed up, so we'll do a simple 2-room format. 16 would be an ideal number, so it would be great if two more people signed up.

To officially sign up for this tournament, please email me (my first initial and last name at umich dot edu) by July 15, so I can nail down the precise number of rooms. Also, it's possible I'll need one or two more staffers, so if you're sticking around after trash and willing to staff, let me know.

This tournament is basically finished; it has 8 packets of 10 tossups each. Each tossup is between 7 and 9 slides, with the vast majority being 7 slides. The tossups are meant to be accessible - the majority of answerlines could be regular difficulty tossups, and all but a small handful of answerlin...

It should be obvious that tossup numbers aren't the be-all end-all; otherwise we'd just do this poll on the basis of individual PPG. There are the obvious things, like the shadow effect, which hugely affects Chicago and Michigan, and significantly less on Maryland and Penn. But there are also more ...

I already mentioned this to you, but the clue about meta-language and object language in the "truth" tossup is not specific enough, since those concepts are used to characterize meaning in general, in many different contexts. The Housman tossup was in the music distribution. The Auden tossup was in literature, and it basically had two clues about his work on libretti - the rest were clues about his poetry, or about his appearance in an Alan Bennett play, in the case of the lead-in.
