Re: NAQT SCT Southwest at UT-Austin (02/07/09)

After fourteen rounds of prelim play, UT A had one loss and OU A had two, so an advantaged final was held. OU A won the first game, but UT A pulled it out in the second to win the tournament. Congratulations and many thanks to all the teams who came to play today. Additionally, thanks to Candace Ben...

Your ballot should reflect which teams you currently think are the best in the country. It's tough to predict nationals performance based on fall tournaments alone.

Re: Packet-submission novice event in fall 2008

Here's the deal, y'all. There's a difference between what we call "easy" and what we call "novice." The concrete difference is that novice tournaments have de jure restrictions on who can play rather than relying on the gentleman's agreement, but I think the real difference is a little more abstract...

Re: Chicago Open 2008: The End Comes...Beyond the Omega Point

I personally find it far from unreasonable to ask teams to be there at 7:30 for an 8 AM start. That would give us a little more cushion and ideally just allow the tournament to end earlier. We will also have to be very strict with timing; if you're not there by 8 and/or if you're not back from lunch...
