Re: Update on CSUMB club
Hey, welcome to the circuit! It's great to see new teams on the West Coast. (I'm assuming the cut off part was some such good news.) Like Dwight said, the Stanford club website would be a good place to start. Right now we have a rough schedule of the major West Coast tournaments up, as well as some ...

Re: Text to MP3 converter - Useful for QB?
I've found it easier to just use a non-restricted text to speech processor (i.e. one built into a Mac, or the one that comes with the Opera web browser) and then just record the output in a sound editor. I've thought about doing this just to hear questions on, say, a long car ride or something. I a...

I remember negging with pyrroles after "Paal-Knorr synthesis", though (to the best of my memory) the question hadn't explicitly ruled out thiophenes and pyrroles at that point. I didn't like that.vandyhawk wrote:I wrote the furans tu as a replacement for a not-very-well-written ethers tossup

As a not-very-good player who has a lot to learn, I like the idea of a rating system. At the very least, it'll be a way of learning (roughly) which answer choices are appropriate for which levels of difficulty. It's also a nice way of seeing how one's own packet stands in relation to the rest of the...

My only objection to the January/February dates is that we're planning on holding Cardinal Classic somewhere in the first half of February. Details are forthcoming, but just a heads up so the calendar doesn't become too crowded like this past winter.

Is Camille Claudel really leadin material? I don't mean her works. I mean, the fact that she was involved with Rodin.
