Re: Goldfish Tournament Discussion

yeah, we missed that one. That does seem quite difficult for a high school packet. I like to think I'm pretty good with geography and I've never heard of that. I think overall the questions were midway between regular IS and HSNCT sets but there was some inconsistency in difficulty. Still, nothing m...

Re: Goldfish National Championship Tournament

I agree. This tournament could definitely be expanded for more teams and multiple rounds and the same program might be used again, albeit in a somewhat manner. Still, this tournament gave Bergen (not Byron-Bergen, as NAQT has called us on their site) the chance to "compete" against teams it would no...

I agree. Despite many, (including myself), who had their doubts about this tournament, it was a definite success. And fun. And convenient. I'll be graduating in June but you count Bergen as one of your regulars in future goldfish tournaments.

Yeah...Bergen. This was the only tournament I've missed all year, and our team was composed of two B-team members, two C/D members and one kid who'd never been to a tournament. By no means assume that this is Bergen at its strongest. But have no fear-Watson and I shall reunite for KMO's, the odd Gol...

Last year, High Tech High represented NJ, even though I think Livingston really deserved it a lot more. This year....well I don't know. Choosing an all-star team probably gets a better team but requires more work/organization than just having one school go.

I'm sorry if I'm a little slow in getting this. If you have multiple teams from one school, they all hear the same questions, but at different times or something like that. In that case, Bergen could probably have three-four teams.

The way rutgers had previously done it was they had the prelim brackets, the top teams from each bracket went into a championship playoff bracket and the winner of this bracket was the tourn. winner. I really thought this way was good, and I have no idea why rutgers felt the need to change it.
