I'm not sure if Gonzaga is really an "elite" team or whatever, but I can tell you that we went because I'm trying to stay in the good graces of my coach because he's mad that I'm in Gonzaga's spring musical.

I think what a lot of people are missing in this thread is on of the most obvious things to do. Go to tournaments. This is probably the way i've grown the most as a player because not only do you learn things, but you also learn how to play. I would also advise you to go to any and all tournaments. ...

I just want to say that, minus the few delays, this tournament was very well run, and especially wanted to say that the HSAPQ set was excellent. Anyone writing a set to be played on in high school should shoot for this(I'm looking at you NAQT).

My suggestion is to lead by example. Write a packet yourself and then play it in practice if you want everyone else to write packets. The only reason I became the decent player I am is because Ted Gioia showed me how to get better and I looked up to him because he was already an awesome player.
