As the tournament draws closer, a couple of reminders/updates: - Unless we hear about any additional interest from teams that have not signed up yet, we will be lowering our field cap to 18 on 4/21 in order to facilitate our planning. - As mentioned in the post, 4/24 is the deadline both for registr...

I also left out non-HSNCT attending teams in my analysis as well as teams that don't frequently compete in our circuit, but Plymouth is indeed very impressive for a team of younger folks (I was shocked to hear that Rhys is only a sophomore!). I can see them becoming even more of a regional powerhous...

Re: New England Discussion '17-'18

Thanks to Nick for kicking off nationals discussions! I figured that I should pitch in my two cents as well. As a whole, I wouldn’t expect MA quizbowl to represent themselves as strongly at HSNCT on the surface – I doubt any of us will be breaking T-25 range – but I do think that our successes will ...

I only played the first 9 packets on Discord, so I when I read packet 10 yesterday, I was surprised to see a tossup on Eugene McCarthy. Thanks for posting the Ionesco TU! If a top player isn't negging at least once a game they are playing far too conservative on the buzzer. I don't think this claim necessarily holds water in all cases.
