Percussion Packet on True Festivus Date
I'll be reading a packet all about percussion and drumming tomorrow in the Festivus server around 6:45 PM EST. Content will range from classical, jazz, world music, marching arts/DCI, trash, and other stuff I like. Questions will be long, and difficulty will be high, but I'm specifically attempting ...

Re: ACF Fall 2019 Specific Question Discussion and Errata
Hey Drew and Chandler, just as an example of this from this year's packet, we had 3-4 different submissions from different teams all on Fire Emblem, which was synthesized into one question. Similarly, there were like 3-4 submissions all about Frankenstein, which turned into just one final question....

Re: ACF Fall 2019 Specific Question Discussion and Errata
I felt that the Hanukkah tossup was way too easy with the lead-in. Anyone who went to Hebrew School at any point could first-line it. Given Judaism is still something of a minority religion in the US, this doesn't seem like a huge problem, aside from the fact that a good share of quiz bowlers are J...

Re: ACF Fall 2019 Thanks and General Discussion
Hello everyone. I'm very glad that the (seemingly prevailing) opinion of this set seems to be quite favorable. Fall requires a tremendous amount of time from a great many people, and all of this effort is justified by the number of people that were able to have an enjoyable time playing, reading, or...

Re: 2019 Chicago Open (8/3/2019) at Northwestern University
One more: The field has been updated and is officially at 18 teams (but I've been given the impression more sign-ups may be expected). I'm going to talk with the editors/staffers and confirm we can go up to 24 without losing our minds. In the meantime, if you are a interested in playing this tourna...

Re: ACF Nationals 2019 discussion: Question Content
As far as I can remember, this is the only quibble I had with the actual content of a history question, which happened to have a major effect on the outcome of one game and consequently our weekend - the question on Denmark in WW2, specifically the line about the White Buses, which iirc said someth...

Re: FST @ University of Florida (3/23/19, Main Site)
This tournament was bundles of fun, and a dandy time was had by all. Going undefeated through the course of the round robin prelims, UGA A, consisting of Brice Fincher, David Galban, Bhanodai Pippala, and David Stewart , came out victorious in the first round of an advantaged final against the secon...

UCF (David Espinal, Donny Lisle, Max Murphy, Tori Thacker) took second. The following individuals won book prizes. 1. Jesse Gingold ...

Re: Great Quizometrical Survey
Yes, that would be advisable. While certain close Alabama + Georgia teams (i.e. Dothan, Alma Bryant, Bainbridge) occasionally come down to play in tournaments in the Tally-Jacksonville corridor, save a few exceptions, the majority of Florida teams play strictly within Florida. While one couldn't exp...

I feel a little compelled to add that American Heritage-Boca Delray, the only Florida team on the list, lost their star player Abhishek (also on the list) to Cypress Bay HS, so they are rather unlikely to make any large impact this year. On that note, Cypress Bay's proficiency is not accurately reco...

Any hypotheses on how this upcoming year is likely to play out? I know American Heritage has some quality teams, and I can assure that South Fork will definitely be a force similar to that of long-gone eras.
