Re: IKEA Mid-Atlantic Mirror @ Discord (10/3/20)
So after the last few weeks of discussion this community has had about boundaries and making this place a more safe and inclusive environment, your decision Will to have a high schooler TD a college tournament bewilders me. I understand that we are in different circumstances than usual, but that doe...

Re: Paired Tossups and Bonuses
I think you need very strict length control and bonus timing So the latter point is going to be extremely difficult to uniformly enforce across an entire tournament unless every room has a nats caliber reader in it (which most local tournaments definitely do not have!). Bounceback timing is arguabl...

Re: Paired Tossups and Bonuses
Here's another argument in favor of bouncebacks: let's pretend you're a player who only contributes on 2/2 per game and absolutely nothing else. Let's furthermore assume that you're on a middle team which gets an average of 10 tossups per game. Across a 10 game tournament, this means you are "...

Re: It's Time To D-D-D-D....Duel! (Challenge: Columbia vs. Chicago)
I respect that other people may not enjoy or feel as comfortable with online play, or find it so decisively inferior a product that they decline to participate. I hope to see Jacob and his teammates at ACF Nationals 2021, should it happen. It will be an honor to defend the ACF Nationals title as pa...

Re: DII Midseason Poll
I know we had a generally disappoitnitng SCT performance, but I would mostly attribute that to Vishwa performing extremely poorly. We will be workng on Vishwa’s general coordination, balance, and teammwork skills to help him hopefully improve from his subpar SCT performance. I would urge voters to l...

Dll Preseason Poll
This is an announcement for a DII Preseason Poll. The teams we are voting for are teams that intend to play/ are eligible for ICT DII (or intend to play just ACF Nationals). So because of the limited size of DII we are limiting the amount of teams you can vote for to ten. Anyone can vote who thinks ...

I thought I would get the discussion started on the state of Tennessee quizbowl this year. I thought I would start this thread off by talking about the teams in my area, Middle Tennessee. Re: How to deal with a failed HS QB career?
Aidan, I think it depends on how you look at failure. I know for a fact that you were one of my favorite players on the circuit and you were always really fun to play against. I have a lot of memories of the matches we played. I'll remember the time Rohan got so exasperated with Youssef that he drop...
