Ok I'm from the northwest part of the state, but our team has played alot of east side Missouri teams from the St. Louis area. Here is a rundown. 1. Ladue Horton Watkins --- the richest public school district in Missouri has a couple of really good players led by Jason Wu, a math/science phenom with...

This should really make for an intense tournament in Chicago... I think Savannah might make our debut this year. We've gone to two NAQT tournaments so far this year and the format is growing on coach Luce. (if anyone really cares that is)

David Hoffelmeyer (Savannah, GA) actually owned enough on the Camp Test to be ranked first before practice on the first day
Savannah, Missouri actually. It's north of KC by about 50 miles.

Teen Jeopardy Tryouts

I tried out today in Memphis and passed the initial test along with 11 others out of 60. (There were three flights of 60) About 36 total* pass the test at each of 5 sites I think, and 15 get selected so the chances of getting on the show are about 1 in 12 assuming every competitor has the same chanc...

They are 2 to a dorm, and each dorm shares a shower with one other dorm, which beats the heck out of community showers. The dorms are pretty decent too.

Savannah is bringing 8 players this year. Hopefully at least 3 or 4 of which will be competitive. Unfortunately I don't get to experience Mr. Barry's Social Studies II class again. I'm taking one for the team and taking Science II or I depending upon what the classes offer.

ASCN has good questions written for speed oriented teams. They are very heavy in the humanities, with a good deal of science and very little math. In my opinion, the quality of ASCN is very good. It is well ran, and has moderators who actually will know a good deal of the subject matter covered, as ...

2005 MSHSAA State Tournament

This year's Missouri state tournament is this Saturday in Columbia. I'll post the results Saturday night. 4 divisions of 8 teams qualified by winning district championships and will play an automatic 3 morning rounds (15 tossups; 10 tossups/bonus; 15 tossups; 10 tossups/bonus). In each division 4 te...

Missouri's starting team has been selected... Myself (David Hoffelmeyer) and Tom Crowley from Savannah are on it, as well as Micheal Richards of Liberty (Kansas City area), and Jimmi Li of Parkway Central (St. Louis). Anyway last year MO got 2nd so I'm hoping we can do well.

Just curious. What are all of your team records (if you keep track of that sort of thing)?

Savannah will be here... anyway we are very much out of the mainstream quizbowl area in the east/southeast, but we have an ok team. I can't wait for nationals to meet the big name teams I read about on here. Good luck for the remainder of your seasons.
