Re: Quiz Bowl at UT-Knoxville

Awesome! I'm a little nervous about the transition to a big university (for those of you who know East Tennessee, Hiwassee College is tiny), but one of my professors is working on his PhD through UT and has been very helpful. Again, thanks for letting me know the club is active and I hope to see you...

Quiz Bowl at UT-Knoxville

Hi, everyone. Does anyone know the status of the team at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville? Are they still active? I am looking at transfer destinations next year and want to get back into quiz bowl. The small 2-year college I go to now used to have a team in the 90's, but they don't have one t...

Re: 2015 NAQT ICT: March 28, Atlanta

I will be attending as a spectator. Does anyone know of a match schedule so that I can know which teams are playing when, or will that be provided at the hotel? I'll post the schedules once team check-in begins on Friday. Shoot me an email at jonah@naqt.com if I forget (entirely possible). Thank you.

Re: Ghosts of Quiz Bowl's Past that You (sorta) Miss....

Also: List bonuses. Also, I miss this bonus lead-in: "For 5 points for one, 10 for two, 20 for three, or 30 for all four..." I didn't know these questions were becoming less common, but maybe that's because tournaments in my area usually stick to a modified CBI format. As a player, I love...

Re: Hurrying at the end of the half

A quick glance at the rules solved my problem. The moderator should allow the team to finish the bonus if time expires. For those who are curious, the tournament is modeled after the East Tennessee PBS Scholars' Bowl TV tournament, which means that it's closer to CBI, except this one does not recycl...

Re: Hurrying at the end of the half

Thanks, guys. Unfortunately, the room is a large auditorium and the tournament is actually a single three-team playoff match (I know, that is technically a "competition" instead of a "tournament"), so the clock can't really be visible on stage. You have the three team tables and ...

Hurrying at the end of the half

Hello everyone, I am supposed to be a timekeeper for a local high school tournament next month. I'm really excited because it's my first time timekeeping and I am a former player in this tournament. I have one question, though. If a team is conferring on a bonus question with, say, 10 seconds left i...
