Considering what Starcraft looked like at the beginning of its development, it could have been a lot worse...

First things first: I am NOT a Chip apologist; quite the opposite, in fact. I just want to address a very specific situation and avoid any future confusion. My old high school (Wilmington Charter) plays and has won several times a state competition sponsored by Comcast that provides two awards: scho...

Also, any sort of propulsion of a chair, no matter which limb is used to propel it, is generally frowned upon. What if it was propelled by love, which has manifested itself into the shape of a limb? I think we've found our solution to declining fossil fuel reserves and increasing oil prices right h...

I've lost two NAQT games on a last question or bonus that turned out to be some sort of (to us) obscure trash. I definitely agree that the distrib. should be kept to the 1/1 minimum...standards on subject matter appropriate for those sorts of questions would also be a good idea.

I agree, it seems that there is a tremendous difference in difficulty between NAQT's Division II questions and the ACF Regionals. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, and to an extent the fall tournament does rectify this, but having another 'intermediate' tournament with difficulty somewhere between ...

I thought it was a well-run tournament, for what it's worth. Yes, we did go 0-10 (and I'm still not too sure exactly how that happened), but the matches started on-time, the questions were well-edited, and the moderators were competent. I don't think there's anything too major Brandeis could have do...

Thanks for clarifying that for me. I know a bunch of people who went to audition, but I've never done it myself (closest I came was taking the written test at HSNCT once).

Well, remember that a lot of people at home like to follow along with the questions and 'play along'. If Jeopardy takes the top merit-qualified candidates that also fulfill the other criteria (e.g. telegenic nature, personality, appearance, demographics), people would not drop any questions, people ...

I thought it was a reasonable tourney. Unfortunately, this is my first NAQT college competition, Div. II, (although we did mostly NAQT in high school, including two trips to HSNCT), so please forgive me if I slip up and make some less-than-astute observations. I agree that at least some of the packe...
