To clarify, was the A/The Member of the Wedding question part of a multiple choice/matching question or a free response one? In regards to the comparatively high percentage of math questions, has anyone recently tried sending, for example, a few of the state's ARML representation? It's quite possibl...

I think we might want to start a different thread for doing this type of comparison...but I agree that the PAC should do something to address this. The easy way is to require exact titles, thugh this is not always the fairest, best, or most logical approach. Aren't exact answers already required? O...

Despite the fact I don't like the PAC format, today's final match was actually really exciting. The top four teams all had a legit shot to win. Don't most PAC finals end up like this? When each team is only getting a few questions, there has to be a huge variance on the possible outcomes -- much, m...

The problem with Vegas is that you run the risk of 2AM dorm evacuations because someone brings back a hooker, who ends up macing him (and it gets into the ventilation system).

Ahh, there was a money prize? Congrats. We didn't fare so well in the other semifinal from y'all.

I think there already was a hs national in Las Vegas. 1996? Mr. Barry's team was even there if I recall correctly.

The letters of invitation to each state school officer to send representative teams are mailed each year from Florida's Commissioner of Education and the COO of Panasonic, so unless there is already a method in place, the State Dept. of Education usually just accepts bids from the individual schools.

I must be getting too out of touch; do people not learn what an S-matrix is in quantum mechanics courses?
They are much more likely to learn one of the other S matrices (overlap matrix) that pops up in an introductory QM class going over simple Hartree-Fock theory.
