Great tournament guys! Aside from that long delay after the 8th round, the tournament went well. Congrats to the PACE qualifiers and the tournament champion!

Re: ERHS Quizbowl Tournament; Greenbelt MD; (9/27/14)
This is sad to see; GPQB could probably help y'all with PR next time if you announce the tournament further in advance. It looks like many teams that would've been closer to this location had already committed to Princeton since that was announced during the summer and a lot of schools need to make...

We need at least 20 teams to make a decent amount profit. Our school is charging us a significant amount to host the tournament.yellow7206 wrote:What is the minimum number of teams you need to hold this tournament?

Re: Summer Practices at UMD
Hey, my bad for the originally short and stupid post. Basically what Chris said. A couple of us from ER went to the UMD practice on Tuesday and played the college sets they practiced with. It was a good experience, but our QB development would be better served by focusing on HS content for now. Chri...

Hey all,
As I have been studying quizbowl and going through many packets, and one thing (of many) I absolutely cannot get right is Japanese Literature. What are some must know Japanese authors and literary works so I can study them?
Thanks

What packets should I study?
Hey all, My schools is trying very hard to improve at quizbowl, and some advice I have read is the necessity of pouring through packets. So far we have gone through stuff like old MD spring packets and 2013 Prison Bowl. But as an intermediate level team, what are some must-read packets on the archiv...

Thanks I'm currently in Chicago and don't have access to the official scorescheets. When I get home tomorrow I'll double check that match and we'll update the sta...

Re: Improving PPB
"As far as ppb goes, I find that a lot of teams overestimate how important it is to have spectacular points per bonus. Obviously you want to be converting the bonuses as 30s all the time, but as far as comparisons between teams, it's usually a lot more important to get tossups than to get bonus...

Improving PPB
Hey Guys, So without our top player, who is graduating, our young team has a very poor PPB of around 15. I understand we need to study a lot more to improve this to our goal of 20+. But, are there any tips, tricks, or studying methods I can do that are devoted to improving PPB. Elevating this for ou...

Re: A Richard Montgomery BELLOCO Mirror 3/29/14 (Rockville,
I thought the tournament was great in terms of questions and the amount of great teams there. Personally, the first round of the playoffs had some poor questions and strange answers. Otherwise, I really enjoyed it. --ERHS QB Mod note: Please note that all user accounts should belong to one specific ...
