Re: Sagacity X - University of Pittsburgh (11/22/14)

It would be logistically impossible for us to run a tournament with any more teams at this point in time. Therefore we have decided to close registration. Thank you for understanding.

Thank you for your input. We're having our first meeting of the semester this coming Thursday, so hopefully we'll have a date then. I will aim for a Saturday, since that seems to be vastly preferred.

Re: Pennsylvania Dates 2013-2014

I concur. With all of the SAT and ACT dates, would we be allowed to do a Sunday tournament? And if we did, would that inconvenience a lot of teams? Doing a tournament at the end of February would give schools barely two months to register and we end the semester in April.

Re: Pennsylvania Dates 2013-2014

Yes, we are still having Battle of the Burgh. I apologize for being so late with picking a date, but this is because we cannot reserve rooms for next semester until the start of next semester. Our spring semester begins in January and ends in April. That means we will not be able to pick a date unti...

Re: 11/23/13 Sagacity X – Pittsburgh, PA

We did consider that. There are other buildings, but unfortunately, there is no way to reserve enough rooms for most of them using Pitt's online system. I'm looking at possible reservations right now and our alternate options are one giant lecture hall in David Lawrence Hall, a ballroom, dining room...

Re: 11/23/13 Sagacity X – Pittsburgh, PA

I apologize for the conflict, but it was the only date we were able to do. Room reservations make things complicated, as always, because we can only reserve rooms right at the beginning of the semester and Cathedral of Learning rooms tend to be reserved really quickly for other weekend events. The b...

Re: Battle of the Burgh XVI - University of Pittsburgh - 4/6/13

Thank you! And we apologize again about the timing. Our main issue with regard to timing is that Pitt's room reservation system is semester-based, so we can't reserve rooms for a tournament in the spring until the beginning of the spring semester. We need a weekend where we are guaranteed a ton of r...
