Re: Illinois '13-'14

Having been friends with and having played a lot of the B team's players (which will make up a lot this year's A team from what I've been told), I can confirm that they're pretty damn good -- I don't know if they can replicate the success of previous years but they're still a great team nonetheless.

Re: Announcement: MATE II - Arrested Development

MATE II will be postponed to this Sunday due to Mason catching a pretty bad sickness recently. Apologies for the last minute postponement, everyone! We'll be playing over Skype on Sunday at 8:30 EST.

Re: Announcement: MATE II - Arrested Development

I probably should've added this in the first post: for the Skype tournament, just add "mason.hale" to your contacts and message Mason that you're interested in the tourney. We'll start a conference call on June 1st and go from there. If any of you guys have played Skypebowl before, it'll b...

Announcement: MATE II - Arrested Development

Salutations one and all, As some of you may already know (either from following the first iteration of MATE or the Facebook group), Mason Hale (of LCHS) and I will be writing an Arrested Development set to celebrate the premiere of the new season. The packet is currently set to have 30 tossups and 3...

Re: Announcement: MATE Part I Skype Tournament (5/18)

Our respective schools aren't going to appear at HSNCT (ergo neither are we) so we'll need some volunteers to help us make this happen. The interest for the packet seems to be there (per this thread and the Facebook group, among other places) so if anyone is interested or knows someone who would be ...

Almost powered every single question he got (so clearly he's a huge fan of The Office). Packet is located here for those interes...

Re: Announcement: MATE Part I Skype Tournament (5/18)

Also, I don't know if Crete-Monee got the memo on the rule changes because the blurt rule was in full effect on Saturday.

Re: Masonic

On the note of questions: Call me crazy but it felt like bonuses kept alternating between high and low difficulty. Consistency was a problem in our early matches. Thanks to the Masonic bonus setup, there were times where it seemed like teams either got incredibly lucky or got the short end of the st...

Thanks Mr. Laird, Mr. Egan and Mr. Greenthal that for putting up a great Kickoff this year. Thanks again for giving PNHS the opportunity to play this year! Being PNHS's first NAQT tourney, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Congrats to all the winners!

Re: The Future

As far as our grants are concerned, last year we got no grant requests at this time. We got a small handful this year, largely from teams whose coaches attended SchoBowlFest in Carbondale, where we encouraged them to apply. We always get a handful at the end of the year that are requests for teams ...

Re: The Future

A problem that isn't exactly widespread but has debilitated quite a few schools from attending tournaments beyond conference and perhaps Masonics (no matter their talent) is their respective team budgets (or lack thereof). My school (and other schools in our area) are in a nasty predicament - as a p...

Rather slick interface! I'm digging the implementation of Bootstrap (or at least that's what it seems like). It's been a pretty fantastic aid for our team, so thanks for that.

I'm not expecting achievements of biblical proportions, but chances are that you might see PNHS sooner or later in the coming season. In our paltry ...
