Well, I guess my predictions on quarterfinalists were right...
We played Danville in the second round and they came from behind and beat us by four, but they played well the entire tournament. Congrats to Dunbar as the overall winners and Danville for winning QR.

I'm quite sure Danville is attending NAQT state--I think that is their only shot at qualification for HSNCT. I think they want to attend, but got caught by surprise by the field closing.

I was thinking along similar lines. I was thinking one would just crack the top 10. And 2 or 3 making the top 20. It wouldn't surprise me to see around 5 teams make the second day.

Yeah. For Varsity NAQT events the top 15% (rounding up to the next whole number) are qualified for nationals. With 21 teams (I believe it was 21) in the varsity, the top 4 (3.15 rounded up) teams qualified.

Eastern is a pretty descent team. Out of the KY teams I have seen so far, I would have to say Johnson Central was the strongest and in a close second Madisionville North-Hopkins. I havn't seen Manual or Dunbar. Anybody have info on NAQT states this year?

We do about 10-12 Varsity per year and since our team is not so huge we do only about 7-8"B-Team/JV" tournaments. We also have a league for Varsity, JV, and Freshmen that does 10 games or the equivalent of an extra tournament. About half of the tournaments are out of state.

I know this year Russell won the Govenor's cup in Kentucky, but I have never seen them in an out of state tournament. I am not sure why... 1990 was the Bengals last winning season (9-7) although in 2003 and 2004 they were 8-8, but in 1988 was the last time they reached the superbowl when they had a 12-4 regular season record.

normally kentucky just goes by Govenor's cup, but I did see a Kentucky State NAQT championship scheduled for Spring '06 and I don't know anything more about it.
