Re: Applications for 2023 ACF Nationals assistant Tournament Directors now open
When should we expect to hear back in regards to this? The form submission page seems to be copied over from the previous application, and says we will be contacted no later than March 5th, which I’m guessing is incorrect. Sorry about that! Applicants should expect to hear back no later than July 2...

Applications for 2023 ACF Nationals assistant Tournament Directors now open
ACF welcomes applications for 2023 ACF Nationals assistant Tournament Director (aTD) positions. In a break from previous years, I plan to spread ACF Nationals planning out as much as possible between now and the tournament; my goal is for this role to require a minimal amount of commitment at any pa...

Re: 2022 ACF Nationals conversion stats
I can't help but wonder if the very high correlation between lit subcategories would hold if you distributed by genre instead. Seems unlikely. This was my intuition too, but it's actually not true: https://i.imgur.com/X0yHpzT.png I've updated the above tossup files with the genre tagging. I'll like...

I've made some plots of correlations in scoring between different categories (i.e. how much does being good at category X indicate someone is good at category Y?). I've compiled conversion stats for ACF Nationals, as well as tables of all buzzes and bonus parts (complete with category and intended bonus part difficulty). These use the Nats scoresheets that Harry White shared . (linking because the boards won't let me attach CSVs for some reason) Tossup convers...

I'll note, though, that "Iroquois supporting the British" is incorrect for the Haldimand Proclamation clue; the Iroquois were guaranteed land purchase rights by the Haldimand Proclamation, not the other way around.

What should we expect top-end and low-end PPBs to be like for two-part bonuses pitched at 66% and 33% conversion? I'd be worried you'd get a fair number of PPBs in the 19 range and a fair number < 5.

A general note: if teams cannot make their local mirror (e.g. because it falls over spring break or the club is hosting a MS/HS tournament), they should feel free to register for another regional mirror on a different date.
