Re: NY/NJ Date Claims 2012-2013

There's very little chance Stuy will be allowed to host a tournament. I could try self immolation in front of the administrators. Don't worry about me getting burned; they'll be pissing on me like always, so it should get put out pretty quickly.

Re: KPAQT II, Long Island, NY - April 21, 2012

A second great tournament by Kings Park! My only real regret is that we weren't able to bring another team or two. The final WAS intense, although technically not as close as our previous matchup with Irvington, which we ultimately lost by 10 points. (The score was settled with the rescinding of a t...

Re: KPAQT II, Long Island, NY - April 21, 2012

Will the computational math questions be read? At HHHW, they were taken out without any pre-tournament announcement. Some students came that would not have come otherwise, and in more than one close game, such a question could have made a big difference for us. We'll come either way, we'd just like ...

Re: NY/NJ Date Claims 2011-2012

We've been fighting with figures in the administration. It's still possible we'll be able to host at some point this year, but it has become highly unlikely that we can have it by the date originally planned, March 10th.

Re: Half Hollow Hills West Invitational (Dix Hills, NY 1/7/2012)

Just as a quick note, it might be a good idea for people to look over the names of the players before they are uploaded to naqt.com, seeing as I have noticed quite a few mistakes out of just the people whom I know. Izzy Heeebkoff ==> Izzy Hechkoff Richard Tip ==> Richard Yip Eric Yinu ==> Eric Xiao...

Re: NY/NJ Date Claims 2011-2012

Your date is a Sunday on purpose, correct? That is indeed correct. Partially because there didn't seem to be a convenient Saturday date, and partially because we had a few modern orthodox students that were interested at the beginning of the year, but didn't join when informed almost all tournament...

Re: NY/NJ Date Claims 2011-2012

Stuyvesant is getting on its feet with the administration, and it's looking like we might actually be able to host. If so, it'd probably be March 11th on NAQT #108A. However, we may be forced to have a pretty low field cap and our priority would be bringing in new high schools from within the city. ...

Re: Half Hollow Hills West Invitational (Dix Hills, NY 1/7/2012)

Was there any particular reason why the computational tossups were not played? One player on our A team, Richard Yip, received a national honorable mention for his performance at USAJMO as a Freshman, and all three teams had AIME participants on them, so we were a little put off by their exclusion. ...
