Re: An Apology and an Announcement

I have more thoughts on this whole situation that I need to process over the next couple of days, but I have to say I think it's very cowardly for Dave to "apologize" by sending someone else to do it for him. It makes me question the sincerity of the apology, especially the part directed ...

By your SCEI argument, a tossup on "free trade" that made multiple references to ASEAN or Southeast Asia would not have accepted an answer of ASEAN, simply because free trade was not in the name, whereas it is in the NAFTA case. I would hope if the required answerline was "free trade...

I've held practice twice a week for the most part, and on a few occassions, 3 times a week. If a player wants to get better, it's basically on him/her to study and improve. Team practices don't hinder a player improving, but there are better ways if the player is motivated. I use practices mostly to...

Aye, Jasper I was thinking about Canfield. Even when they had one of the top players in the county, like a few years ago...the coach would insist on subbing everyone out. In general, as Jarret said, most of the larger schools in the league have a ton of people. Having depth is good, but having a cap...

Firmly stick to the full-line switch at the half. Even taking out the player who answered 7 toss-ups in the 1st half. You must take that player out, he's answering too many questions.

One of the things I tell young players the most is Quiz Bowl is not school. That is. No one is grading you, no one is demanding you know 90% of the answers, in order to get an "A" or be a "good" player. Through school, you're brought up believing if you don't know 90% of the mate...
