Re: New York Discussion 2012-13
I feel like New York in general, especially Long Island (which I obviously know better than the other regions), lost a lot of strength from graduating seniors. It seems to me that Kellenberg gains a lot of strength, as Joe/Gabe were young and neg-prone but now seem to be more experienced, but it's o...

Great Neck South is fielding 3 teams. Sorry about the confusion, it's just difficult putting together teams over break, haha.

Re: Half Hollow Hills West Invitational (Dix Hills, NY 1/7/2012)
I just wanted to say that this tournament was surprisingly efficiently run for having 102 teams and that all of our 6 teams had a great time. My team seemed to like the ro8 pool play since it allowed for more games rather than single elim. I do also agree with Ryan et al that having one large divisi...

Re: FNT Mirror @ Hunter College High School (10/29/11)
Hey, just wanted to say that all of the players from my team had a great time, great job TDs! It was a really good experience to introduce new players, I thought... Also I enjoyed meeting/talking to everyone, which don't necessarily get to do as a player :). Disappointed with the outcome, but things...

Re: CAT V - Chatham, NJ - May 14, 2011
Great Neck South will most likely be attending, with probably two teams, one main and one premiere division. I would like to ask, though, if only freshmen (or just novices in general) are eligible for speed check and how main and premiere divisions are split up. Looking forward to it, we had a great...

We also agree with the above posters that the cost will be prohibitive, since we are paying $90 for at minimum of
five rounds.
Most other tournaments will have a lower cost for more rounds, and I am sure that the higher price poses a concern for many, as far as attendance goes.
Thanks.

Yes, we're still interested.
Right now, I'm just a student posting (Daniel, in the sig below) and I need to meet with our advisor tomorrow morning to see whether we're bringing 1, 2, or 3 teams.
We will mostly likely bring 1 or 2, though.
Thank you for your patience.

Science Bowl Help!
Hi, Great Neck South has a relatively new National Science Bowl team, which for us is separate from our main quiz bowl team--NAQT, etc.,-- has been in existence for a few years now, and I was wondering whether anyone knew about any other similar events similar to NSB in the NY/NJ/CT area--any quiz b...

Hi,
Great Neck South will likely attend, but we're not sure how many teams we're bringing,
so we were just wondering when the registration deadline is if there is one.
