The field is finalized and closed, with Strake Jesuit being allowed in as a non-MI team to replace a team that withdrew.
We are currently fully staffed, with one backup reader available if necessary.
Looking forward to a good tournament on Saturday!

Re: Gender Neutrality in Quizbowl Writing and Playing

I think that the sentiment of gender-neutral pronouns is fair—as noted above, using he/she in a question can quickly narrow down the answerspace, especially at lower levels of difficulty. I used gender-neutral pronouns when editing for 2021 NASAT literature, and I thought it worked fine, but my per...

I strongly support this and have advocated for it in the past. I hope that NAQT adopts using "they" or another equivalent gender-neutral pronoun as their standard, especially for MS/HS sets which is where I think this most negatively impacts strategy

The 2008 Class B Michigan State Championship. It was run on KMO/Academic Hallmark Questions, which is a significant part of what led to this happening. Split from Paired Tossups and Bonuses - Mgmt The hotter take is that bonuses end up making a difference in a very small number of games. A large portion of a quizbowl match is devoted to them.
