Re: TRASH Wikipedia article nominated for deletion

For a long time there was a photo of Yahpe under an article on a Romanian ping-pong player, or something.

I found this when I was actually researching ping-pong players' profiles, and it freaked me out.

Bourbon Street (this was probably a poor idea) Agreed. I wouldn't be shocked if more than half the field negged on "New Orleans" on this question. Other than that, the questions were good, especially yours, Michael, since I answered a lot of them! Someone pointed out that they couldn't th...

Re: Geography Monstrosity discussion

I'm not going to criticize any part of this tournament (I had fun) since I didn't write any questions, but I want to show gratitude to the writers and editors and TDs who put in the work to make this such a cool tournament. And, for anyone that wasn't there, you missed a truly spectacular performanc...

Umm, yeah, so, anybody want to be on my team? I'm a good Geography player -- not Meigs/Hoppes level, but second-tier, maybe?

I can write questions but I guess I'd like to find a team first.

Cleveland is a complete shithole Seconded. with not a lot to do, but I could see CWRU able to have 10 or more staff and host, if Steven could get the rooms and things for whatever weekend would be picked. That is, if they had any desire to host. It was the first thing that popped in my head. We're ...

Chris, At least one person from the Saxton team (Jacob Durst) is still coming and playing. Would anyone out there like to join on? Come on, no charge. Endless weekend of quizbowl! And, yeah, what will happen (I think anyway) with food is: at registration, people can pay whoever is in charge of arra...

It's not out in Korea yet, and doesn't have a U.S. distribution deal . If it does well in Korea, it will probably be released in the U.S. later on like "The Host" was. Keep checking entertainment news, e.g. Variety.

There was a hose baseball question on Travis Hafner that referenced the nickname Donkey (Donkey or Big Donkey is a common nickname for Adam Dunn). In all fairness, Hafner is also nicknamed Donkey. Of course, using this as a lead-in is poor form due to there being multiple players nicknamed Donkey. ...

Pibb XTRA is definitely not Pibb. It's sweeter, syrupy and flatter tasting. It really doesn't deserve the Pibb name at all. That said, I saw some original Mr. Pibb in a grocery in Fayetteville, W. Va. a few years ago, so there's got to be some still floating around.

It's not a movie, but Boy Meets World had that one episode where Corey, Topanga and not-Corey were kept on a show because they were "cool.". Surely you mean Shawn Hunter, don't you Mr. Morlan? Forrest Whitaker could also play the part of the Ismail Twins, perhaps via split-screen technolo...

I know it's University Challenge and not really "quizbowl," but until we get The Matt Weiner Story this is as close as it gets.

ICT location?

My two cents: It seems Minnesota (and nothing against the Twin Cities) is a lot less interesting and more expensive to travel to than Chicago. Who, among teams that are going, would prefer one or the other, and is either a dealbreaker? Thoughts?
