Re: Ohio 2011-2012

Does Sycamore keep more than just Artur? His teammates scored well at states too.

Re: Ohio 2011-2012

http://www.naqt.com/stats/team-performance.jsp?team_id=31145 They had 17.82 ppb with 3 players at Solon and they return at least Eric, their top scorer. We played them at regionals this year and I would have been very willing to bet that they wouldn't finish worse than fifth at OAC states if they we...

Re: Ohio 2011-2012

Beachwood returns their two top scorers from HSNCT in Scott (43.72 pp20th) and Lizzie (30.39). They also keep Anshika, who only played three and a half games but had 25.68 pp20th, so I'd be surprised if they aren't at least in the top 4 or 5 in the beginning of the year. No one has mentioned Hawken ...

Re: 2010-11 NAQT IS sets: question-specific discussion

Also in IS-105 - Wouldn't "Initiation" have been acceptable for the tossup on Rite of Passage? This was a pretty "derpy" question in my opinion, because Confirmation carries different meanings and actions in different Christian denominations, as does the circumstances, such as i...

Re: OAC Talk

Would it make sense to have a Cleveland regional and an Akron regional? There would probably be a good balance between the strength of the teams in each area. The biggest problem I can think of with that plan would be too many East Central teams getting pulled to the Akron one. The problem I see wit...

Re: OAC Talk

The OAC system doesn't keep the best team from winning. Whoever wins has to go through everyone else. It can just keep the third best team from getting third and so on, and it makes the actual state tournament somewhat anticlimactic, for lack of a better word.

Re: OAC Talk

I obviously don't like OAC, but I think it does have a couple merits.... I really like the fact that you can confer the entire time, which makes it more of a team game then TU/B is. Obviously TU/B has the bonuses, but being able to confer during the tossups is useful. Plus we can make fun of the que...

Re: Solon Two-Day (February 19-20, 2011)

Some might think that I wouldn't want Olmsted Falls and Northmont to attend my tournaments in the future, but nothing could be further from the truth. Having the best Midwest Championship possible is in the best interest of all the teams present (incl. my own), and therefore I hope both teams come....

Re: Ohio '10 - '11

Back in November Northmont beat us at Tipp. They also beat a team with Mike and Sohan and lost to one with me and Marty at Parkersburg. But those were all on A sets and Parkersburg had a weird format.

I think Walnut is your winner.

Re: Ohio '10 - '11

By the end of the summer we were practicing on Skype about twice a week, but we haven't been on at all (as far as I know) since school started up. I imagine we'll start having them again eventually.I like Skype a lot better because it's more realistic; the only problem is that you need someone to re...

Re: Ohio '10 - '11

3: Olmsted Falls. Jim Coury, Ohio's highest returning scorer at the HSNCT, will continue to form the backbone of this team. However, this year may see much more participation and contribution by his teammates, which he has traditionally had many of (they have attended tournaments with at least 4 te...

So is Copley.

All three of the above schools return just about everyone next year.

Walnut Hills is really good but doesn't play enough.
South Range can definitely beat any of these teams as well.
