Re: Michigan 2011-12

Our new A team probably has a few holes to cover, and Novi is losing our coach, but there are some dedicated members on the team. To be honest, Novi"s performance might be pretty erratic. DCC- Swept the subject tournaments at Acequizbowlcamp, so they should be all around powerful. DCD- We found out ...

Much of this nation's southern border lies along the Panj River. Khorugh, the capital of its autonomous province of Gorno-Badakhshan, lies on the (*) Pamir Highway, and the Anzob Tunnel connects its second-most populous city, Khujand, with its capital. The western end of the Ferghana Valley lies in...

Just a little bit of clarification. I'm actually graduating this year, so I'm not going to be at camp (It sounded like you were including me when you said 'hope to see you at camp'). Also our coach is becoming assistant principal so he will not be coaching next year (I still think Novi will be a ra...

I found it a bit odd that there was a question on Syracuse and a question on Sicily in the same packet (I think it was Round 5). It seems like that would have favored those who are knowledgeable in Mediterranean history a lot.

I'm not sure about those teams. Troy is having a really hard time with its extracurriculars- they're completely unfunded at the moment. Going to Atlanta would be a huge issue for an unfunded team in Michigan.

Although he had a separated shoulder, Matthew Stafford was able to do this by throwing the game-winning touchdown pass in a game against the Cleveland Browns in 2009. Re: Culver (IN) Jan. 29, 2011 Varsity and Frosh/Soph Tourneys

For the games between Novi A and DCC B, scores were 355-345 in the first game, 285-440 in the second, and 365-325 in the last. Due to Novi's excellent performance, their loss of Emaline Maxfield appears to be negligible. Congrats on another great tourney this year and to all the teams who performed...

Yeah, Novi didn't play that great on Saturday. I think for the most part, there's going to be a lot of competition for 2/3/4th in the state teams. Troy A, GPN, DCD, DCC B, Novi A... I agree that lists aren't the way to improve. I feel like at best a player can become *average* through simply memorizing things on lists. I question their use as a starting point as well- I think reading AP prep books could be better at times. I could definitely be wrong- I've gotten better through...

Any suggestions?

Reading some breezy textbooks on the subject might work--for American history, I enjoyed "The Unfinished Nation" by Alan Brinkley.
