Version 2.2 is now available. You can now change the speed at which questions are read without closing the program, editing the source, and re-opening it.

I've hacked a graphical interface out of GTK+. Should have cross-platform compatibility now, as long as the computer used has Python and GTK+ installed, but I've only tested it on Linux.

A school that's been consistently passed over--University High School (CA). 1. The interface allows you to fix the category if it's incorrect. In every tab but the Read To Me! tab, you can manipulate the result by clicking on the category (which is underlined and in curly brackets) and a dropdown will appear, and selecting a new category will change it. In 2008, Santa Monica High School went 9-1 in the preliminaries of the HSNCT and proceeded to take 11th overall. They were definitely a known force in quizbowl, but very few people had heard of them before... Hence the surprise.

It's looking as though, if RB splits to three teams, two will be two-man teams. ACF grants discounts for teams lacking two or more players; will similar discounts apply here as well?

RB can definitely split into the third team if necessary to bring the total to 8; thus, at the moment, I'd list the field as

I don't do Science Olympiad and am perfectly fine with going solo (I've done it at ASCII 1 and Technophobia Jr 2009), so yes. I'm sorry, but accommodating a single player having a conflict is not at all a good reason to ask for an entire tournament to change its date. I think it was implied that "other people want this too" - ... David might be saying that a bunch of RB people are needed to staff Science Olympia...
