Yeah this tournament was waaaaaaaaaay too hard, pretty much. The set was inappropriate for the field, but the ridiculous difficulty was out of our control. It's just his opinion. Obviously, Dunbar and duPont are both good programs. In my opinion, both teams are of roughly comparable strength. My apologies, we were trying to avoid the SAT date on Nov. 5 by switching dates with our middle school tournament held on Nov. 19. The date is being moved back to the original date of Nov. 5.

Saint Joe's of Metuchen might be interested in mirroring, but we do recall that Princeton mirrored in this region last year, so we would not want to interfere with a pre-arranged mirror. Why would someone place Johnson and Manual, probably the two best teams in the state, in the same pool? Anyways, if you want to "study" "science" you should probably just read some packets and try to look up answer lines you see on Wikipedia. You could take an AP course - AP chem, bio, physics C - but it's inefficient (although it might help you actually understand the material). ...

I think another issue here is that, with the advent of good quiz bowl, the transition from middle school to high school is that much harder, especially if said middle school does not academically strong. Well HSAPQ writes better questions, maybe talk to them and see if you can get something from there? There are also a couple of housewrites that you can mirror: Solon's spring tournament from last year has not been released and is probably unfamiliar to the vast majority of your target audience.

Have you formally decided upon a format?
I personally would prefer HSAPQ to NAQT. Alternatively, you can try to mirror any of the high-quality housewritten sets that a lot of Kentucky teams wouldn't otherwise be able to access.
