No adapter cable. I used the all-in-one I had lying around. Battery mode is also useful; I'll probably bring it to tournaments so we can practice sans power outlets.

Yes, during a recent tournament where we sent 5 teams, our A and B teams were bracketed together so B team played as D team in order to avoid that.

I was under the impression bracketing into even numbers eliminates the need for byes and therefore meets your goal of maximizing quizbowl played? If three schools do indeed drop 4 brackets of 6 would be best.

http://freerice.com is a fun art game if that's what you want to learn. Read an art book like The Annotated Mona Lisa in conjunction playing it is a good way to reinforce your art knowledge.

There's a foosball table, video games, and Settlers of Catan at my house that we play after every meeting, and that usually brightens the freshmen who have been sitting there for one or two hours getting very few questions. 8th graders are easier to rope in to quizbowl, our team has found. CJC should remain as is-a, simply to avoid scaring away the majority of teams that attend. College tournaments remain useful practice for MSJ and Bell but not many other teams.
