Re: Livingston HS (NJ) March Madness NAQT - Saturday, March 16,

Thanks to Guy and everyone at Livingston for a smooth tournament and a fun day. Managing a 48-team field is no small feat and the day went off without a hitch. Great to see so many friends old and new.

Re: Bergen Junior 2 (October 27, Hackensack NJ)

Just wanted to say a quick thanks to Bergen for another smooth day of quiz bowl and a fun tournament. Hats off to Ben Franklin and all the other teams - I watched some very exciting games and lots of excellent competition. It's nice to see middle school quiz bowl grow and wonderful to see the thrill...

Re: NY/NJ Date Claims 2012-2013

Hunter will stake a claim to Nov 10 for our Fall tournament and Apr 6 for Prison Bowl.

EDIT: I meant Oct 13 for the Fall tournament - not sure how Oct 13 became Nov 10 in my head...summer thinking abilities. Sorry for the mixup.

Re: NY/NJ Date Claims 2012-2013

Matt - sorry for not getting back to you sooner. We will move Prison Bowl, please go ahead with the March 2 plan for Bulldog. And expect to see us there! I'm not sure where either of our tournaments will go now, and I missed that there is no more FNT. So hopefully we will mirror SCOP sometime in the...

Re: NY/NJ Date Claims 2012-2013

Hunter is looking at March 2 for Prison Bowl VI and October 27 for our Fall Novice Tournament. Happy summer, all!

EDIT: Should have read that more carefully - I'll try and move our October date to avoid conflict with FaCT.

Re: 2012 NSC: June 9-10 at Washington University in St. Louis

Just wanted to say thanks to PACE for a well-run tournament. We had a wonderful time in St Louis and it sounds like a lot of other teams did too. I think it's safe to say that there wasn't a team in the superplayoffs that we weren't afraid of, and after HSNCT we were relieved that DCC A got knocked ...

Re: 2012 NAQT HSNCT: Congratulations to Bellarmine!

Not to clog up the forum but just wanted to say hats off to Bellarmine and DCC - that was a thrilling end to a great tournament. Running a 240-team tournament on schedule was amazing, but to cap it off with that two-game finale was just incredible. Highly recommended viewing on iHigh if you weren't ...

Re: BHSAT XXI at Yale University (March 24, 2012)

Just a quick thanks to Matt and the entire crew at Y for a smooth tournament and a great day. Certainly we have come to expect a very high level of excellence in the content at Bulldog, and this tournament lived up to those expectations. But more than that, there is a special art to keeping all the ...

Re: Northern New Jersey

Just wanted to say thanks for a great day of good quizbowl. We are excited about the outcome but well aware that the coin could have easily landed on the other side, in both the Bowl and the Bee. So our hats are off to St Joe's, High Tech, Bergen, and all the great schools who came out for this even...

Oh my - this is not the first Hunter event that has been disrupted by a freak snowstorm (http://hsquizbowl.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8643&start=50#p176489), but it is especially sad because this is the first tournament for some students. Obviously we hope this experience doesn't leave any of th...

Re: Harvard Fall Tournament VI (11/12/11)

Before I finalize our travel plans, can we get an idea when you expect the tournament to end? I seem to recall a few previous trips to Harvard going a bit haywire at the end. The last two Bolt buses from South Station to NYC are at 6:30pm (arrive 10:45pm) and 8:30pm (arrive 12:45am)...which one do y...

I don't contribute much on these forums and I don't want to waste people's time by reiterating things that have already been said, but I'd like to add my perspective on what we here at Hunter have been referring to as "our asterisk". Let me apologize in advance for the word count. If you l...
