Oh wonderful. I just finished my first year at Swarthmore and can assure you that you're in for a worthwhile experience, regardless of how you end up involved with college bowl. We do have a team that's been pretty consistently strong (given an all-undergrad student body of not quite 1500). This yea...

Those risky buzzes just ended up paying off. Like Sam, I'm just really glad TJ and us will be on the same ...

It looks like the only school I'm waiting on at this point is Princeton. I'm into Swarthmore, Williams, Dartmouth, Carleton, and William & Mary. My last school, Pomona, didn't get one of my recs and didn't tell me about it until a couple weeks ago. At that point, I had already heard from some other ...

NAQT Distribution

Someone commented on the Cavalier Open saying (essentially) that they would have rather seen the many close games in the top bracket decided by 20 straight academic questions rather than NAQTs comparatively trashy set. I'll avoid commenting on specific questions, but suffice it to say that when game...

The Emperor's Nose...

It is told that once upon a time, a scholar in China was curious about the length of the Emperor's nose (doubtless a very important subject). Unfortunately, no commoner was permitted to see the Emperor, and the scholar would certainly not be allowed to measure his excellency's nose. To solve this pr...
