Re: Illinois '11-'12

I think it will be interesting to see how much the phenomenon of 3-time All-States rises as we now play good quizbowl and there are abundant study resources, which perhaps makes it easier to either identify good players earlier or allow more people to become good earlier, seeing as the only person ...

Re: Illinois '11-'12

I don't feel qualified beyond the obvious top 4 in the overall poll, which does aline with most of yours. But on a Class A note I balloted as follows: Class A Only (Which I know doesn't matter for much, but we do have a few surprises from time to time) 1) Peoria Christian (Three great Ace Camp Vete...

Re: Illinois '11-'12

Well to start up some class A discussion, I'd like to throw in my former high school, Litchfield. Without Macomb and Latin, who were undoubtedly the biggest threats of Class A, Litchfield does seem to stand a chance at this year's State Series. Last year, they managed to put up some points the two t...

Re: Live stats from Springfield

And if I am not mistaken, points from the afternoon rounds were the only ones used, correct? We we had 2 losses in the morning (To New Berlin and Centennial (10 - 30 point loss margins)), which placed us number 6 in the final bracket. During the afternoon, we went on to beat Macomb, Porta, and New B...

Re: Illinois '09-'10

The Porta Tournament, in the morning half, was essentially the seeding for the afternoon. We (Litchfield) lost to Macomb in the morning ranking us second in our pool. In the afternoon, 1st in each pool played 2nd from a different pool. We played Springfield Lutheran and defeated them. Next round, we...

Re: 2009 IHSA State Final Results

I enjoyed state much more than last year, personally. I also saw many tossups go dead and all teams probably could have done better in Class A, but Litchfield got their first state placing, and we were very much excited about that. Although, I do believe there should be some sort of limit on the vol...

Re: IHSA Sectionals Results and State prognostication

Today we (Litchfield) had a difficult time with New Berlin the first half but pulled ahead second half, but had a fairly easy sectional besides that. Really looking forward to seeing Peoria Christian, Latin, Warrensburg and us, I guess, "battle it out". Looking at sectional scores, it shou...

Re: Illinois '08-'09

I was quite surprised too. Ltichfield was never on the ranking last year, but we still made it to state. Coach Scobbie said that we should be on in the rankings now. If we aren't, someone doesn't like LItchfield..lol

Re: Illinois '08-'09

No I am not Elizabeth. I was on the JV team last year, but unfortunately was not able to play this year because I went to a different school for the first semester.

Re: Illinois '08-'09

I would just like to congratulate Litchfield High School for winning the Springfield High School tournament this Saturday. They were able to beat Porta, who was ranked number one in single A by well over 100 points. They also, in a very closed match, which included adding a tiebreaker question, were...

Re: Illinois '07-'08

Just popping in and saying hi to all Illinois scholastic bowlers. I am, like Elizabeth, from the Litchfield team, and I hope to be joining in conversations here.:)
