Re: VCU Open and Trash 2011 @ DCC (Aug 6-7)

Here is the tournament format (assuming we have 9 teams): RR with with byes, so each team will play 8 games in 9 rounds. After that, we can either do final(s), then run a draft or shootout on the remaining packets OR we can re-bracket into an upper 4 and a lower 5 and do 3-4 more rounds, then final(...

assuming team # at 8 teams stays constant It looks like we have 10 teams now. That's even better, really. I think we could easily get in a full round robin plus finals, assuming we start at 8 AM. We're absolutely not doing a 14 round double RR. We'll figure out a way to get up to 8 teams (5th players, I think we have at least a staffer or two extra, etc.) which puts things back at 10 rounds (single RR + split into 2 playoff brackets and do a second RR within each).

So people are aware: Sunday will most likely be a full round robin, followed by an advantaged final if need be. Ideally, we'll be able to get up to 8 teams on Saturday; in that case, we'd do a full RR, then split into 2 playoff brackets, to give everyone 10 rounds plus the final.

So, one person from UTS (or Woburn, or Lisgar?) would need to play with Brendan and Yohan. If more people are ...
