Re: NAQT, new moderators, and time
You are correct: the host has set the start for 4:30 and I expect it to be done within 6 hours, or by 10:30. I suggested he set a time limit on all matches; your suggestion is similar. And yes, no bouncebacks. The reason I am concerned is that he said the A-set questions are longer than they usually...

NAQT, new moderators, and time
How would one fit a NAQT A-set tournament into 6 hours given teams and moderators unfamiliar to the format? Do you set an arbitrary time limit on matches or risk having a slow moderator read for 45 min.? Or do you just follow NAQT timing rules to a T? I'm asking for a coach in Iowa who is trying NAQ...

Did this happen? Yes. Out of 8 teams, North Cedar placed first followed by Wilton A. The top F/S team in the field was Davenport Central. Stats are available here . We used an A-set because there was a small field with F/S teams and these teams would get frustrated a lot more if we used a regular s...

When is your tournament? If it's a few weeks away, you can get the buzzer fixed by then. I'm somewhat planning for it to be fixed by then; I'm not sure I'll be able to get RI's set for various reasons including that they don't usually loan out their system to other schools when they're not attendin...

We have one; it's broken. Moline has 2. Central has 1. Rock Island has 1. It would be a big inconvenience to ask Sterling or those teams 1 hr+ away for their systems.
