The biggest problem with this forum is that instead of taking time to explain to people the merits of good quizbowl, the moment anyone mentions comp math or bad questions we have four or five out-of-state strangers coming to the "rescue" to shoot that person down instead of gently taking ...

Just looked over the lit and art for this tournament and it was pretty solid. Certainly won't be flawless, but it'll be the best house-write in Illinois in a long time. Yall should be pumped to play it.

I'm probably not the best candidate to tell someone how to run their tournament which I have zero stake in; perhaps a player/coach who is actively involved in the circuit and who feels strongly about such changes should open lines of communication.

Wheaton North probably still has vestiges of the "Old Guard". I would expect that they do old school stats (no-SQBS, individuals based on total tossups, people crowded around continuous slideshows, etc.) and single elimination playoffs.
