Re: Michigan 07-08
The questions were written by Walton (whoever that is). They were not terrible, but also not great. Each game was 16 questions with two bonuses per tossup. No negs, no powers, bouceback on bonuses. DCC was missing 1 A teamer, 1 A/B teamer, 2 B teamers, and 1 B/JV teamer. (I realize that teamer is no...

Re: Michigan 07-08
Here are the Rube Tournament results (East Lansing February 23) if anyone cares. I'm not really too sure about the third and fourth place results in both divisions, so feel free to correct me. Varsity: 1) DCC 2) EL 3) Novi 4) GPN JV: 1) GPN 2) DCC 3) Andover Varsity used an NAQT packet and JV used s...

i prefer and held stick buzzers too. i really hate those ones where the light for the buzzer is on top, but the button is on the bottom. it seems really pointless to me. we have three judges and two of them are broken (not surprising to anyone i hope). I dont see whats so bad about them. you can act...

For the record: white Cloud beat DCC in a local tournament (they could be missing a player). While they are usually good, I'm not sure they are equal to teams during the Weinberg regime. Which tournament are you talking about? I do not recall any time last year when White Cloud beat DCC A. I think ...

That team is not the starting line up for DCC. We were missing 3 of our top 5 players. I was very impressed by your a/h person so I'm going to guess that he's one of your top 5. Just for curiosity's sake, what was the other guy's subject? Well I (the asian kid) am like the art/music/miscelanius per...

Danville was pretty good at the Russel tournament (congrads on winning!). Thier team was basically the one girl who knew lit, art, and music pretty well and the kid kid who could do math and science. The other two people on the team didn't do anything. JCC beat us in the morning, but they didn't put...

Just to let everyone know, there is a tournament in White Cloud on October 20th. I'm pretty sure this is the first tournament in Michigan for the 07-08 season. The tournament is kind of wierd because the questions kinda stink and they have a recognition rule. I think a lot of teams are coming this y...

If anyone is reading this and doesn't know what Celeb. Shootout is, it is a very fun tournament to go to and I personally look forward to it every year. It is part individual and part team and as the name suggests, all the answers are people. You take a test and you are seeded in a single-eliminatio...

We have a Judge and we really enjoy it. Its really good because we practice during homeroom (a random 25 minute free class right after lunch) and before our coache's next class can come in we can pack it up in a snap. Although it is kinda wierd buzzing in, you get used to it pretty quickly. It does ...

I disagree. I think that DCD will be the team to beat. At KMO states, most of their team was sophs. and they won the B division. However, I do not attend DCD, so I don't know how many exactly they are graduating. EL will probably be a one-man team next year because not only is Kurtis smart, he is pr...

DCC is bringing 5 or 6 players to the MSM camp. However, I am somewhat disappointed about the courses at the camp. They seem too basic and are focused around art, science, history, and lit. I would like to see some courses such as: economists, psychologists, philosophers, various religons, mythology...

What's up with hats?
Whenever I go to a tournament, there is always someone with a wierd hat. I've seen cowbot hats, berets, and even a pointed-wizard hat. Can someone explain what is up with this?

A Quiz Bowl T-Shirt?
I was in the mall the other day and I saw a guy with a bunch of "You know your a redneck if.." jokes on it. I thought it would be cool to make a "You know your in Quiz Bowl if...." shirt. However, I don't know any of those types of jokes, so please post good jokes in a "You ...

Next Year
I think that DCD will be a very powerful force next year. At KMO states, their team that won the B division was mostly sophmores, so they should not be taken lightly. East Lansing will most likely be a one-man team next year unless the lower-classmen steps ups to the challenge. Kurtis is a great pla...
