"Should have been prompted" replacement policy

PACE is discussing some potential rule reforms. One of these that I wanted to discuss with the larger quizbowl community is what happens when a tournament director agrees that a team that was ruled incorrect should have been prompted. I believe across PACE, ACF and NAQT the current policy is as foll...

Re: Should quizbowl reform the three-part bonus?

I grew up with bouncebacks in high school and think they're just fine and worth experimenting with. One clear consequence that's going to have is fewer upsets. There's something fun about beating a superior team to a tossup, and then watching them squirm and facepalm as you get 0-10 points on a bon...

Should quizbowl reform the three-part bonus?

I've been thinking recently about the purpose of bonuses in quizbowl tournaments. Mainly that they slow the game down and generally have very little effect on the final outcome of the match. While I'm not necessarily calling for an abolition of bonuses, I think it's worth considering whether it's ti...

I'd personally be willing to pay a higher fee so that more can go towards a mirror fee given that quiz bowl tournaments are generally pretty underpriced for open teams given th amount of work that goes into writing and editing.
