A bit belated, but this tournament was excellently run and extremely fun to attend - thank you so much for hosting! The very smooth rounds + timing made this tournament much less exhausting than I'd have anticipated, especially for a longer than standard set.

Notable changes from previous years include the reduction of chemistry and math, and the notable increase in world literature (with a corresponding reduction in American and British literature) Literature: 4/4 1/1 American 1/1 British 1/1 Euro 1/1 World + Cla...

Re: What are you allowed to talk about (set content)?

(This is more of a concrete response than I wanted the tone of the original post to be, so I split this off here) I think one of the better answers to the question is that quizbowl sets should really encourage diverse writing casts, because that minimizes a lot of the above issues. Sets where entire...

What are you allowed to talk about? (re: set content)

I guess I want this to be a discussion post about the boundaries between facts/clues/jokes you tell your friends and clues you use in tournaments. I've been kinda struggling with this idea a lot, and its always struck me how little seems generally accepted. There are some very broad guidelines of co...
