Re: 2023 ACF Nationals Specific Question Discussion
Very minor mistake: In the tossup on neutrino detectors from the Harvard/MIT packet, it says that IceCube has 80 subsurface strings, but it currently operates with 86. We refer to the current iteration of the detector as "IC86" at IceCube. At some point in the past (pre-2010) it was planne...

One player that hasn't been mentioned above but really deserves a place on your ballot is Anish Kodali from Great Valley. For the sake of the teams playing this tournament on Sunday, I hope this tournament runs smoothly and a good time is had by all. Why is a tournament of this size, with many teams who have not played pyramidal quiz bowl ever or in many years, being run on SATURNALIA, a pre-nationals difficulty set? M...

Do you think you can add an import from SQBS feature in a future release for easy conversion? Not a programmer, so sorry if I just made an insanely hard suggestion. Re: ACF Online Gameplay Rules Changes
Most of these are good additions to the rules, but there are a couple that seem unnecessarily rigid to me. Specifically, these two: Added Section DX.2.B: "Whether or not a player buzzed before, at, or within less than a syllable after the power mark is a matter of moderator judgment, and is no...

The tossup on cymbals allows for a prompt on "drums" despite "bass drum" being clued in the TU (the other team converted it off of this prompt after power). Not sure if this is a mistake or not, but thought I should mention it.

I'm becoming more convinced that Zoom tournaments need something other than the Zoom chat to handle buzzes. I was trying my hardest to notice buzzes but Zoom's minimalist chat interface makes it really hard to see them without just taking your eye from the packet every few seconds. A kind of ridicu...

A few other nitpicks from packet 1: From the tossup on black body “One of these systems is responsible for the glow seen in solids above the Draper point.” As far as I can tell, the “Draper point” is a somewhat vague and non specific temperature determined by Draper as the point where he could see a...

there's an error on Steppenwolf from Round 1 where the tossup says "Hermione" instead of Hermine. 10. This character grabs ahold of a man’s hair which then turns into a comet and carries this character through a “rarefied and glacial atmosphere." This character sees a war between cars...

And at almost every event with a camera policy, some people have not been able to have their video on. Are they not going to be allowed to play? So far, no TD I know has been this stringent. But it's worth considering. Especially since "camera off" tends to be contagious. Once people see ...
