Hi all,
Harvard College Bowl is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a mirror of Penn Bowl on October 21, 2023!
Set Information can be found here: https://hsquizbowl.org/forums/viewtopic ... 03#p395703
Logistics:
The tournament will be held in Vanserg Hall, which is located in Harvard Yard. We recommend using the MBTA Red Line to get to the tournament, as parking options in the area are limited and traffic can be unpredictable. Registration will begin at 9 am: we aim to hold the opening meeting at 9:30 am and finish by 6:00 pm (teams in finals or tiebreakers may need to stay until 6:30 pm). There will be preliminary and playoff rounds, with rebracketing in between. A lunch break will take place when most convenient; teams will have access to a variety of food options in Harvard Square. Justin Duffy will be serving as tournament director.
Fees:
Tournament fees/discounts are the following:
+$120 per attending team
-$10 per working buzzer system (must have power cord and 8 functional buzzers)
-$15 per experienced moderator with laptop (must be familiar with quiz bowl rules/scoring, and have good pronunciation, speed, and reading skills)
-$10 if your team has to travel more than 200 miles one way, according to Google Maps
Registration:
The field size is capped at 12 teams; all college teams are eligible to participate. To register, email [email protected]. Please include "Penn Bowl Registration" in the email subject, and specify where you are from, the number of teams you would like to bring, and any relevant discounts. Registrations are not complete until we respond in some fashion saying so! Please also feel free to reach out via email if you have any questions.

Tufts (1/3/0)
Boston College (1/0/0)

Re: 2023 Penn Bowl at Harvard (10/21/23)
Thank you to everyone who came out to Harvard on this rainy Saturday to play Penn Bowl! Congratulations to Brown, who defeated MIT in the first game of an advantaged final to win the tournament. Complete stats can be found at https://hsquizbowl.org/db/tournaments/8 ... all_games/.
I'd also like to give a big thank you to our staffers: Walter (whose help with stats during the tournament was great appreciated), Jonchee, and the multiple Harvard first-years who staffed their first tournament today!

Thanks Harvard for hosting Penn Bowl 2023, and I hope everyone had a fun time with the set. In the User Groups section of the User Control Panel, there is a forum up for tournament discussion (packets and raw stat data files are there too). Any comments would be welcome!
